Aimi Athika

Aimi Athika practice centres on painting and mixed media, often reflecting on the quiet emotional landscapes of everyday life. Her works frequently draw from intimate spaces like domestic settings, personal memory, and moments of stillness, allowing subtle gestures, objects and figures to carry layered narratives. Through restrained compositions and a sensitive approach to colour and surface, her paintings invite a slower and more contemplative form of looking. Over the years, she has participated in a number of exhibitions within the Malaysian contemporary art scene. Her works were presented in the two-person exhibition Unparalleled Eye Beyond Sight at G13 Gallery in 2017, and she has since taken part in various group exhibitions and independent presentations. Through an evolving body of work, Aimi continues to explore how personal experience can unfold into broader reflections on identity, womanhood, and the quiet rhythms of contemporary life.
